Ghostly happenings in a West Bromwich Pub.
Ghostly goings-on as West Bromwich pub landlord baffled over flying phone.
Ghostly goings-on have been captured on CCTV at a
historic pub, sparking speculation it could be the spirit
of a former landlord who died there 20 years ago.
New Talbot manager Ajay Chohan was baffled when his mobile phone vanished from
inside the main bar room of the West Bromwich pub while clearing up in the early hours
of the morning.
He immediately went to check video camera footage in a bid to solve the mystery. While
scrolling through the film he saw the phone, which had been left on a chair, fly on to the
floor. “It was crazy,” said Mr Chohan, aged 30. “No-one was near it and then it just flies
off the seat and lands about three metres away from where it was originally.”
Since the incident at about 3am last Tuesday there have been a number of other ghostly
occurrences.
Orb-like lights have been seen on the walls of the pub in Black Lake and one worker
said she felt someone touch her on the shoulder, even though there was no-one there.
Former landlord Gary Stephens died after suffering a heart attack inside the pub 20 years ago and some staff believe his ghost could be responsible for the strange occurrences.
Mr Chohan added: “One regular customer – his dad used to run the pub – said the seat where I put my phone was where he used to sit.
“A few people have been saying it could have been his way of telling me that was his
seat.”
He added: “I’m a sceptic but when you see things like that it makes you think twice.
“There is no explanation. The vibration function on my phone is broken, there is no
draft inside the pub.”
The pub opened more than 100 years ago.
Last year tens of thousands of pounds was spent revamping the two-storey
building.

'Ghost' Photographed In London's Dominion Theatre.
'Ghost' Photographed In London's Dominion Theatre.
Among the superstitious, it is said a resident ghost in a theatre is a sign of good
fortune.
If that's true then Tottenham Court Road's Dominion Theatre may be one of
the luckiest theatres in London after a photo has emerged of a supposed
ghost lurking in its stalls.
The chilling photo was taken by We Will Rock You patron Stuart Cheveralls
and uploaded on to the theatre's Facebook page.
Irrefutable proof of the afterlife? Add the
real life events surrounding the site of the
theatre, and you have what may be a
compelling case.
History tells of a terrible disaster 114
years before the Dominion was built, when
the Meux and Company Brewery occupied
the same site as the present building.
On 17 October 1814 a huge vat containing
3,550 barrels of beer - over a million pints -
ruptured, causing a tsunami of alcohol to
sweep the area, flattening buildings and
killing those in its path.
An eyewitness wrote in New York magazine The Knickerbocker: "All at once, I found myself borne onward with great velocity by a torrentwhich burst upon me so suddenly as almost to deprive me of breath. A roar as offalling buildings at a distance, and suffocating fumes, were in my ears and nostrils."
Eight people drowned in what became known as the London Beer Flood.
Is this a photograph of one of the poor unfortunate souls claimed by the worst
industrial alcohol accident in British history? Or simply a fake? Take a closer look...
