A SAMURAI ghost or case of Photoshopped picture?

Are these the boots of a dead SAMURAI? Ghostly image of a pair of feet behind a little girl standing on a Japanese shore 'near warrior tombs' sparks internet frenzy

  • Are these the ghostly disembodied boots of a samurai soldier?
  • Chatter online after mysterious image emerges of a little girl
  • The photograph was taken in Kanagawa prefecture, Japan, last year
  • A black pair of boots appear behind the small child
  • However, there is no evidence of anyone else in other photos
  • 'I know there are several very old samurai tombs' nearby
  • The photographer purportedly insists it has not been photoshopped

Could these be the boots of a disembodied samurai soldier, lingering mysteriously behind this little girl?

A spooky dark visage that appears behind the child in this photograph has sparked online rumours of a ghost.

This photograph was captured in Kanagawa prefecture, Japan - 'nearby some samurai tombs', apparently - late last year.

The Reddit user who posted it online - a friend of the photographer - insisted it was 'not photoshopped' and that paranormal forces could be at work.

'I'm not saying it's anything - just that it looks an awful lot like disembodied boots and legs...' 'Obiaruf ' told users.

He then suggested they appeared to be 'samurai boots to me'.

'I know there are several very old samurai tombs nearby.

'Again, not saying that this is what is there, just that, based on preliminary research, this is my best guess...'

Another conspirator suggested they could be combat boots from the World War II era.

'My grandfather was in the pacific theater (Okinawa Japan) in WWII and I recognize what the man in the background is wearing. Its a US Navy Uniform from WWII.'

But not everyone was so convinced by the tricky picture.

Some users suggested it was likely an optical illusion - a trick of the light - or the presence of a real-life human being. Or both.

'Looks like a living person in boots and dark pants and a light blue, possibly denim colored shirt,' said Jack_Shid.

'Because of the perspective, the rest of the person is hidden behind the girl

Last month, a chilling image emerged on the 'Toowoomba Ghost Chasers' Facebook past, with its owner claiming it showed the ghost on a young drowning victim.

The photograph, which was taken in 2014, was posted on Facebook by Australian Kim Davison, from Queensland.

The image appeared to show two women and four children swimming at Murphy's Hole in the Lockyer River, south-east Queensland.

But Ms Davison and Jessie Lu, the other adult in the photo, were adamant they were only accompanied by three children.

It provoked fierce discussion online after it was revealed a little girl had died in the watering hole a century prior.

A Brisbane Courier newspaper clipping from November 22 1913 included a death notice for a little girl who died in that watering hole.

'Doreen O Sullivan, aged 13 years, eldest daughter of Mr. James O'Sullivan was accidentally drowned whilst bathing in the Lockyer Creek on Friday afternoon,' the notice read.

'Nearly an hour elapsed, before the body was recovered. The spot, which has always been considered dangerous, is known as Murphy's Hole, and is over 20 foot deep.

Ms Davison insisted: 'At the time of taking this photo there was nothing between us.

'I'm holding the little girl and that white head next to me with horns is not human, I can promise you that.

'Its fingers are on my shoulder and on my daughter's arm. They are long skeletal type fingers.'

Disturbingly, Ms Davison claims that there had been strange occurrences that day as they swam in the water, which only firms her belief that a spirit was present.

'On this day my daughter had her leg grabbed two times by something in the water.'

'When I went back in for one last dip to cool off I did feel something behind me as I was walking out of water but tried to ignore it.

Ms Davison was convinced the shadowy visage in the photograph was Doreen O'Sullivan's photograph.

A sceptic responded to Ms Davison's claims, pointing out another possibility.

'The eye sees what it wants to see. In my opinion, it's nothing more than a splash of water,' wrote Max Meara.

'Notice the child facing away from the camera - their left arm has just surfaced, causing a splash.'

Brad Glynn had another explanation: 'I think it is another kid just the sun is over exposed more on the face as they are facing the sun.'

The 'Toowoomba Ghost Chasers' Facebook page administrators were not convinced by either explanation.

'We used to swim there all the time growing up and all I can say is just to be safe I'm never swimming there again!' they wrote.

Resturant Owner claims to have caught a ghost on CCTV in Leeds.

Video: Footage emerges of ghost in Leeds restaurant.

Creepy footage has emerged of a ghost in a Leeds restaurant.

The ghoul was busted on its late night antics when restaurant owner Marcus Levin went over CCTV in the building’s entrance from the night before.

But the video soon sent the hairs on the back of his neck stand up as a strange ethereal light anomaly was shown shifting across the scene outside the former church, which was transformed into a nightclub before becoming Get Baked restaurant.

As well as the eerie shape, the restaurant owner found a creepy CROSS had also been carved on a door.

Marcus, 26, said: “It was like an orb of light moving across the screen. It really freaked me out.”

The 250-year-old building beside the main student campus in Leeds, is said to entomb the bodies of two priests who may have since been disturbed by the church’s renovation into a nightclub.

Marcus, who owns the Get Baked bar and eaterie, said: “We’ve got a big notice board outside. I came in on this particular morning and noticed someone had messed around with the letters.

“I checked over the CCTV and it stopped at bang on 3am. As I was watching it I could see a really distinctive bit of light and thought ‘what’s that?’

“It’s like an orb of light coming from the side of the building, it stopswaiting and you can see a human being walk across.

“My first reaction was ‘what the hell’! I filmed it on my phone and my business

partner later put it on Facebook. It’s had about 30,000 hits since which is crazy.

“It did really creep me out, so I went outside for a cigarette and found a cross carved on the door. It was pretty terrifying, especially as it’s an old church.

“I was pretty sceptical before this, but I would definitely say I believe in ghosts a bit more now.”

Marcus, who has been running the business in the former St David’s Church since January this year, said a week before the spooky footage emerged at the end of March he had seen a similar figure of light through his office window.

“I normally stay late to do the accounts in my office. One night I saw a glow of light outside. I moved closer to the window to see if it was a reflection

but it didn’t move, then eventually it just went away.

“I definitely think this is a creepy building and stuff is going on. It’s said that two priests are buried in the tomb here.

“You can imagine if that were you you would be unsettled about people partying, drinking and doing all sorts around you years later.

“Maybe if it is a ghost it’s one of those two priests.”

The restaurant, which is used as a student hang out, is now appealing to see if regulars are willing to partake in a seance.

Writing on their Facebook page, Get Baked wrote: “In light of recent ghostly developments, who’d genuinely be interested in coming down to a seance type event thing at The Joint?

“We’ll film it and get some proper ghost hunters involved with all the equipment and everything if there’s enough of you interested in taking part?”

'Haunted' doll causes veiwers to suffer pains and headaches.

Watch at your own risk: Video of 'haunted' doll causes EIGHTY viewers to reportedly suffer chest pains, nausea and crippling headaches.
  • Peggy was given to a paranormal investigator by her terrified former owner
  • The doll is believed to be haunted and trigger migraines and chest pains
  • Peggy is said to have correctly predicted the death of one woman's cat
  • Psychics speculate that she is 'Jewish' and possibly a Holocaust victim

Video footage of a creepy doll has been wreaking havoc on a string of paranormal enthusiasts around the world – reportedly causing one British woman to suffer a heart attack.

Paranormal investigator Jayne Harris, based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, said she has received an influx of messages from people describing chest pains, nausea and crippling headaches after viewing photos and videos of Peggy, who she believed to be possessed with an evil spirit.

Some reported flashing visions of 'mental institutions and treatment bordering on abuse' and overwhelming feelings of anxiety.

One woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, even suffered an alleged heart attack after watching a video of Mrs Harris and Peggy in a car together on March 16.

'If I had to guess, I'd say close to 80 people have came forward with experiences,' said Mrs Harris, who has been studying spirit attachment since the death of her cousin Kelly in 2000.

'Some are small, like computer screens freezing, sharp headaches or a sense of dread, but others are more disturbing.

'One lady said that when she opened a photograph of Peggy, her computer froze on the picture and the room went cold.

Haunted, Paranormal, Ghost, Possessed,Psychics, Jayne Harris, Peggy
'She then said she felt someone in the room with her and could hear them moving around. This lady was messaging me at the time via Facebook asking me to quickly advise her on what to do.

'I took Peggy down into an isolation area and requested that she cease her tormenting. Apparently everything returned to normal.'

Mrs Harris continued: 'Another lady yesterday said she had been experiencing light bulbs blowing and a presence in her home after she had been speaking about Peggy.

'With Peggy, it's not only while people are looking at her or watching her, it seems to be afterwards too.'

Mrs Harris, who has herself experienced migraines and feeling drained after working with Peggy, said she has never seen a case of this intensity before.

She runs an organisation called Haunted Dolls, and often gets random items in the post with no prior background.

Mrs Harris uses an array of gadgets and experiments to piece together the puzzles surrounding them.

Peggy was sent to her recently after her previous owner reported a series of terrifying nightmares.

'She’d wake feeling hot and shaken,' Mrs Harris said.

'No matter where she moved the doll to in her home, the nightmares persisted. She apparently sought the help of a local priest but two visits later and there was no change.

'In September she became quite ill with a fever and began suffering hallucinations.

'When she recovered, she saw no other option but to get rid of the doll as she was convinced it was at the centre of all that had been happening.

'I think she Googled "haunted dolls" and came upon our website. She didn’t want us to go to her home to conduct experiments as we usually would, but instead sent the doll to us.'

The team, along with members of Haunted Dolls’ social media groups, have been trying to put together a clearer picture of the spectre inhabiting Peggy.

It is thought she is possessed by the spirit of a woman born in 1946 in London’s Holland Park who died of a chest-related condition - possibly an asthma attack – and strongly dislikes clowns

Four different psychic mediums have ‘read’ Peggy, all invariably picking up that she is restless, frustrated and was persecuted in life.

'We have been told she can affect people’s dreams,' Mrs Harris said. 'She recently visited a lady in her dreams, warning her about one of her cats.

'The next morning, the lady found her cat very ill and he sadly died that day.'

There is still a shroud of mystery surrounding Peggy’s religion, according to Mrs Harris. She appears to have an aversion to a crucifix necklace she was previously made to wear, suggesting she is not a Christian.

'A lot of people, including two mediums, have said they feel she has links to the Holocaust and was possibly Jewish,' said Mrs Harris.

'We have conducted automatic writing sessions with her in which the words "star" and the name "David" came up, so there is possibly a link there.'

It was during the automatic writing session – a ritual whereby a psychic will communicate with a spirit, producing any messages they have without consciously writing – that an cryptic instruction was passed on to a member of the Haunted Dolls community.

The woman in question, a developing medium known as Lindy, had experienced paranormal activity related to Peggy before when her Facebook page kept posting comments about the doll over and over again.

'When I commented my thoughts and feelings [about Peggy] all my comments were duplicated – no one else’s, just mine,' she said.

'I tried commenting on other threads and nothing happened, but I soon as I went back to that one the same thing happened. My dog started barking and my face became very hot and flushed. I felt like I wasn’t alone.

Haunted, Paranormal, Ghost, Possessed,Psychics, Jayne Harris, Peggy
'I ended up apologising to Peggy as I felt maybe she disproved of us chatting about her and my symptoms stopped.'

Three days later, another Peggy video inspired Lindy to have an overdue conversation with her daughter about how they were to deal with her mental health issues.

'My daughter has been unwell for months and things were strained and stressful,' she said. 'Late that morning, I found myself having a much needed heart-to-heart with her.

'All the things I had wanted to say for months were just flowing from my mouth.

'I’ve found it very difficult communicating in such a way with her due to her illness. I felt that Peggy had helped me.'

Lindy did not know that the automatic writing session with Peggy was taking place, but when she logged onto Facebook and saw images of the messages received during the session, one seemed to be for her.

'The words LINDY GIRL EXPLANATION DRAW A LINE were written on the paper. I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was basically what had just been talked about between me and my daughter,' she said.

Though they have had offers from other psychics to rid Peggy of her spirit, Mrs Harris and the Haunted Dolls team are going to research her case.

'I’ve been asked to take her along to various paranormal events and investigations at haunted locations but, for now, I want to continue my private studies into her case,' she said.

'In order to do the work I do well, I have to approach each case as a sceptic initially and look for 'normal' explanations for things. If it were one or two occasions that things were happening on, I could do that, but with Peggy I just know there’s something more.

'Just the other night we held a session with her and I made lots of notes as the pendulum was going crazy.

'The next morning I couldn't find my notepad anywhere, and when I did find it, I couldn’t even reach it.
'It had been placed up in the joists of the ceiling in our basement. My husband had to use a ladder to get it. Many people who saw the picture felt that she did not want me to tell people the information I had gained.” 'What Dwells Within’, a book detailing some of Jayne Harris’ most memorable paranormal encounters, co-written with Dan Weatherer, will be released in June.

Could breathing "toxic air" be the cause of many ghost sightings?

Ghost sightings might just be hallucinations caused by breathing 'toxic' air, say scientist.

The smell of spores and mould causing hallucinations will form the basis of a prestigious university's ghost study.

Supernatural reports have long been associated with sight - but now it seems visions of ghosts might be more closely related to something that's smelled.

Research being conducted by a US university has shown there are possible links between the air quality of a room and the hauntings reported to have been seen in it.

A team of researchers from Clarkson University in New York said that human experiences reported in many hauntings are similar to mental or neurological symptoms reported by some individuals who have been exposed to toxic moulds.

It's known that some fungi, like rye ergot fungus, may cause psychosis in humans.

The university's Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering Shane Rogers stated that the links were not yet well established, but notes that many hauntings are associated with prime environments to harbor moulds.

The team have said that the goal is not to debunk legends but to investigate why certain places are perceived to be haunted.

"Hauntings are often reported in older-built structures that may also suffer poor air quality.

"Similarly, some people have reported depression, anxiety and other effects from exposure to biological pollutants in indoor air.

"We are trying to determine whether some reported hauntings may be linked to specific pollutants found in indoor air."

Rogers, who himself is a confirmed ghost story fan, is working with a group of undergraduate students to measure air quality in several reportedly haunted places, such as the Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg New York, where there is a long history of ghost stories.

The team will gather data at this and several other locations throughout the spring and summer and will publish their results at the end of the study.

By comparing these samples to samples from places with no reported hauntings, the researchers hope to identify factors unique to the haunted locations.

They are looking for common attributes in the mould microbiome in the places believed to be haunted compared to the controls, and are also planning to analyse the types of toxic moulds that may cause psychological effects in humans.

A ghost or just a weak pint glass?

Watch 'ghost cause man's pint to explode in pub'

The owners of Barney Mac's bar believe it might be a sign from one of its former regulars, the late Joe Murphy

Astonishing footage has been posted on Facebook of a mysterious exploding PINT.

The video shows several people sitting around enjoying a tipple when one man, whose pint is rested in front of him, turns away for just a couple of seconds to hand a picture back to the bar staff, the Irish Mirror reports.

But the moment his back his turned, his pint glass shatters in front of shocked onlookers.

The video was uploaded to Facebook by Barney Mac's bar, located in Drogheda, Ireland, and has gone viral.

The owners put it up with the caption "the ghost of Joe Murphy" - a regular of the bar who has since passed away.

They added after the post: "Strange as hell when it happens."

One user said: "Deadly but freaky."

People online have been quick to point out the reason for the loss of the pint.

Some say it's simply someone kicking the table, while others insist it could be a cold pint poured into a warm glass straight from a dishwasher.

Policewoman physically attacked by a ghost.

Policewoman claims terrifying 'black shadow ghost' attacked her leaving her covered in blood.

Other cops have reported seeing a woman and girl covered in blood at an Argentinian police academy

A trainee police officer claims she was attacked by a ghost which grabbed and scratched her during a night shift.

The supposed attack took place in a room where other cadets have also reported spooky encounters.

One claims to have seen the figures of a woman and a girl covered in blood.

Maria Fernanda, 25, was on midnight guard duty at the Police Training Academy in Buenos Aires, Argentina when she claims to have heard a scratching sound coming from one of the lecture rooms.

When she called her boss he told her to wait outside while he checked.

But seeing nothing unusual inside he told her not to worry and went back to his office.

Maria Fernanda, Police, Paranormal, Ghost, Haunted, Buenos Aires

Freaked out Fernanda said: "No sooner had my boss gone than I heard the noise again.

"I pulled my service revolver out and went in and then I saw this black shadow flying across the room towards me.

"Before I could react it grabbed me and I screamed and ran full pelt to the bathroom where I locked myself in.

"I then noticed there was blood on my face, arms and chest and realised it had scratched me."

Fernanda immediately reported the incident to her superiors who began an investigation.

A police spokesman for the academy said: "This is not the first report we have had of strange sightings in that part of the building.

"Another cadet also reported seeing a black shadow while another said she had seen a woman and a girl covered in blood.

Maria Fernanda, Police, Paranormal, Ghost, Haunted, Buenos Aires
"In one of the bunk beds she found some blood stains and claw marks and others have reported seeing ghostly figures disappear.

"But this is the first time one of our cadets has been physically assaulted.

"We are looking into it."

Wife of Midlands man nags him from beyond the grave.

Pensioner tells how wife is still nagging him - from beyond the GRAVE!

Retired Harborne lollipop man Ted Wiseman tells how his deceased wife contacts him through a medium - and he is over the moon!

Hen-pecked Ted Wiseman got precious little peace from his wife in life – and he’s getting even less from her in death.

For the Halesowen pensioner is now being nagged from beyond the grave by fiery Yvonne.

And he’s over the moon that his wife is still finding time from the Other Side to give him an ear-bashing.

Yvonne may have worn the trousers, but the couple were inseparable.

The former lollipop man at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School, in Harborne, has even received the hair-dryer treatment via a medium. Yvonne issued a very blunt message to her hubby through the clairvoyant: “You’re wearing my slippers – take them off NOW.”

Yvonne, who died following a stroke last May at the age of 64, adopts a more hands-on approach when it comes to Ted’s annoying bedtime habits.

She recently woke him by bellowing: “Stop bloody sniffing!”

“I was absolutely gobsmacked,” said 79-year-old Ted. “That was her. That was exactly what she used to say.

“She also got very irritated when I flicked my fingers or sucked my teeth. When she went off on one, she went blood-red, but she never held a grudge. If we had a bit of a set-to, it would go on for five minutes and that was it.”

The pensioner admitted: “She was the gaffer. If you did something wrong, she’d let you know.

“I’ll give you an example. A young lad knocked on our door and said he needed help because someone was after him.

“Before I knew it, Yvonne was shouting ‘Get out!’ and pushing him down the drive.

“I gave in because I never won.”

Ted and Yvonne, a Ladywood care home worker, were married for 46 years and had two children and five grandchildren. Son David still lives in the three-bedroomed town house that has been the family home for 39 years.

Despite her short fuse, Ted adored his wife. “She was a workaholic,” he said. “She liked everything spick and span and I’ve kept things that way. She was witty and everything we did, we did together.”

Fiercely house-proud Yvonne, who liked everything to be in its place, first made her presence felt at an Indian restaurant.

David, 45, and former factory worker Ted watched nonplussed as a dish glided across the tablecloth to its rightful place.

Since then, Yvonne has been at pains to make sure everything’s in order on the home front.

True to form, she’s roaming the property they once shared, switching off lights and putting items back in their correct drawers.

Always busy round the house, it was sud’s law that Yvonne would regain control of the washing machine.

“I put the conditioner on the side,” said Ted. “When I turned round it had gone. It had mysteriously been placed inside the machine.”

When Ted recently committed the unforgivable sin of putting the soap dispenser on the gleaming kitchen work surface, ghostly Yvonne leapt into action.

She moved it.

Recently, granddaughter Chelsea, aged 20, broke into Yvonne’s favourite song, Gracie Fields’ classic, If I Knew You Were Comin’ I’d’ve Baked a Cake.

Yvonne gave her verdict on the rendition by slamming shut the oven door. The constant visits have made Ted a firm believer in the hereafter.

“I was a sceptic, I’m not now,” he added. “Believe you me, I’m seeing it. It’s happening in front of me.”

Yvonne has one last little job for Ted – scattering her ashes at the two locations she identified in life.

“I better get that right,” he sighed, “or there really will be hell to pay.”
